By The Nation - The Democrat Party yesterday condemned opposition MP Jatuporn Promphan for distorting a classified Foreign Ministry document and called for an investigation into who leaked the document.
Democrat Party spokesman Buranat Samutaraks said the party had condemned Jatuporn, a Pheu Thai Party MP, for distorting facts and creating misunderstanding over three points:
n Giving misleading information that the classified document mentioned a time frame for assassinating former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Buranat said the document did not include any sentence that mentions any form of violence by the government.

Probe Of Classified Thai-Cambodian Relations Document Leak Underway
Dr Panithan said concerned officials and the Office of the Attorney General have been appointed to investigate why the document was leaked to Jatuporn, who is also a member of parliament for the opposition Puea Thai Party, and to other UDD key members.
Emphasising that the document focuses on existing relations between the two neighbouring countries and ways to resolve their problems, Dr Panithan said he understood that it would be difficult to find culprits.
The ministry on Friday told journalists that the document sent to Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva did not specify ways to "eliminate" fugitive, ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, as charged by "a certain group of people."
Foreign Ministry deputy spokesman Thani Thongpakdi on Friday said the ministry will seek advice from public prosecutors on a possible lawsuit against Jatuporn for violating the 1997 Information Act and a 2001 state regulation.
Relations between Thailand and Cambodia deteriorated after the Cambodian government in early November appointed Thaksin as its economic adviser.
Thaksin's government was overthrown in a bloodless coup in September 2006. Thaksin is now on the run from a two-year jail term and is in self-exile overseas after a Thai court convicted him of abusing power while he was prime minister when he helped his former wife buy land in a prime Bangkok commercial district at an unusually discounted price.
Meanwhile, Thai Deputy Interior Minister Thaworn Senneam said in Bangkok that he believed that the leak of the classified documents by Mr Jatuporn was aimed at agitating UDD supporters to come out in full force early next month to topple the current government.

Cambodian Foreign Ministry says illegal Uighurs must go
Birmingham Star-
While the Cambodian Foreign Ministry has said they will go, it is still not certain where their final destination will be.
It is believed they will face possible torture and execution if they are returned to China.
Authorities in China have claimed the Uighurs are under investigation for criminal activities in ethnic clashes that killed nearly 200 people.
The 20 Muslim Uighurs fled into Cambodia from northwest China's Xinjiang region after the unrest in the area during the year.
It is believed the group has applied for refugee status at the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Phnom Penh, meaning Cambodia could still be obliged to take them in under international law if refugee status is granted.
China has said that as the Uighurs are suspected criminals, they should not be allowed to use the UN refugee system to escape punishment.

Cambodia deports Uyghur refugees back to China
(CNN) -- The U.N. refugee agency said it deplores a move by Cambodia to deport 20 Uyghur refugees back to China.
Kitty McKinsey (pictured), a coordinator with the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees agency in Asia, told CNN on Saturday that the refugees had been seeking asylum.
China's northwestern region was wracked by ethnic violence between Han Chinese and Uyghur Muslims earlier this year, and the Uyghurs fled to Cambodia to escape the unrest.
McKinsey said the UNHCR considers the deportation a breach of international law, and Uyghur human rights activists have expressed concern about the move.
Cambodian and Chinese officials could not immediately be reached for a response. But a Cambodian state media outlet, Agence Kampuchea Presse, reported that Chinese Vice President H.E. Xi Jinping is to arrive in Cambodia on Sunday for a three-day visit.

With no indication of voluntary consent, they were administered a seven-day course of an herbal formula called "Bong Sen." Such a trial violates the rights of the forced participants and does not meet minimum scientific standards, Human Rights Watch said.

Former International Court of Justice official urges Cambodia to sue Thailand in Sabotage Court of The Hague
A former senior official of the International Court of Justice in The Hague said to end the current border dispute with Thailand, Cambodia can sue Thailand in the Sabotage Court of The Hague to make Thailand respecting Cambodia's sovereignty, reports Reaksmei Kampuchea.
Mr. Tjaco Theo vanden Hout (pictured), current Dutch Ambassador to Cambodia and former official of the International Court of Justice in The Hague made this comment while giving a speech to a group of students in Phnom Penh on 16th December. He said the stalled border negotiation withThailand can only be resolved if Cambodia sue Thailand in the Sabotage Court of The Hague to make Thailand respect Cambodia's sovereignty. "In regard to the Cambodian-Thai issue, for the winner of the 1962 court case it didn't need the court to explain the verdict. Only the loser needs to ask the court to explain the verdict if it found sufficient evidence, but it cannot appeal the verdict. The reason (Cambodia) cannot sue Thailand (now) is because Thailand does not recognise the jurisdiction of the International Court of Justince in The Hague", he said.
